Landscape Form 1099-DA PDF/Docker/SDK
Why?
1. To support multiple sales per page
Many individuals have hundreds or thousands of sales each year. The official IRS Form 1099-DA only supports one sale per page.
The landscape version allows for 18 sales per page.
The form complies with the IRS requirements for substitute Forms 1099-DA as outlined in Publication 1179.
2. To avoid requiring each broker to develop their own form (reinventing the wheel)
While this historically has been the case for IRS Form 1099-B, it need not be the case for the new IRS Form 1099-DA.
3. To promote use of Intelligent Tax Document® technology
Intelligent Tax Documents® provide the form data in an industry-standard, structured format for straight-forward injection into tax software. They simplify tax prep. Brokers, using this technology is the right thing to do.
All tax software companies should add Intelligent Tax Document import to their applications. Forcing taxpayers to transcribe data from Form 1099-DA into tax software is just wrong.

- Deploy the image to your container runtime environment
- POST data in specified JSON format to the microservice
- Receive PDF response
SDK (Java 17)
SDK will:
- generate filled Form 1099-DA PDF files and
- embed data in Financial Data Exchange (FDX) JSON format.
SDK does not:
- do cryptocurrency accounting to determine cost basis or other items that are inputs to the SDK
